a church with purpose

Our church was founded with the goal of mending and sending people through the preaching and teaching of The Word (The Bible) to BELIEVE in, BELONG to and BECOME like Christ.

We gather weekly to worship God and read from His Word. Our services start with a contemporary worship set of live music, followed by teaching from our pastor or another church leader. These services are a time of personal and collective prayer, fellowship with others, and encouragement for the week ahead. We hope you’ll join us!

Below you’ll find brief bios for our Pastor and other members of our church leadership team. Rest assured that these men and women of God are passionate, seasoned, and knowledgeable. If you have any questions about our church or your walk of faith, you can count on them to help guide you to the answer.

We hope you feel right at home here. We’re not just a group of people that gathers every Sunday. We’re a family. And we’re here to serve you, so don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. Welcome to our church.

Our ultimate goal is for everyone at Northway Christian Family Church to believe in, belong to and become like Christ and being confident in your ability to read and understand the Bible is part of the journey. If you don’t own a Bible, we’d love to give you one.

Our
beliefs

WE BELIEVE IN CHANGE

Mark 9:23

Everything is possible for the one who belives

As a Bible-based Christian church, Northway Christian Family Church holds to the teachings found in the Bible. We believe that the Bible is God’s Word and the greatest authority in our lives. We believe in one eternal God, who exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that God’s son, Jesus, was born of a virgin, fully God and man, lived a sinless life, died on a cross, and rose from the dead. We believe He is now seated at the right hand of God until He returns to make everything new. We believe that because of Jesus, we can be forgiven for everything we’ve done wrong and be given the gift of eternal life. To do this, a person must believe that Jesus is God’s son, confess him as Lord of your life, and be baptized. Then, a person is given the gift of the Holy Spirit, who actively works to allow believers to live a Godly life.

There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.

John and Jen Tether - Lead Pastors

GOD

We believe in one God, who unconditionally loves all people. He eternally exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is fully and completely God, sharing all of the divine attributes in a perfect loving community.

Matthew 28:19  // John 1:14 //  Acts 5:3-4 //

THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible is inspired by God and completely true and authoritative in all areas of faith and practice. The Bible is a source of strength, direction, and wisdom for those who apply it to their lives.

John 17:17  // 2 Timothy 3:16  // 2 Peter 1:20-21

JESUS CHRIST

We believe Jesus Christ is the perfect revelation

of God to humankind. He is fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life and died on a cross as a substitute for humanity’s sin. His resurrection from

the grave affirms His victory over sin and death.

Matthew 1:18-2:12  // John 1:1-18 //  Romans 3:21-26

belief-icon-humanity.webp

HUMANITY

We believe God created humans in His perfect image. Because of its rebellion, however, all humanity is alienated from God. As a result, humans are incapable of having a relationship with God based solely upon their effort.

Genesis 1:26  // Romans 3:10-18  // Ephesians 2:1-3

belief-icon-salvation.webp

SALVATION

We believe that all who trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will receive the forgiveness of sins and the free gift of eternal life. True peace and fulfillment in life is only found in a relationship with Jesus.

John 3:16, 6:35-40, 10:27-30  // Romans 8:28-39

belief-icon-spirit.webp

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who indwells the followers of Jesus at the point of salvation. He also equips them with spiritual gifts for serving others, and guides them in the journey to become like Christ as they relinquish control of their lives.
